Final Environmental Assessment and FONSI for the Construction and Operation of a New Marine Facility at Ceiba, Puerto Rico
This environmental assessment (EA), prepared pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq. (NEPA), documents a review of the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with the construction and operation of a new marine facility within former Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Ceiba, Puerto Rico. The new marine facility will consist of an administrative building, boat maintenance/storage hangar, exterior parking area, physical security, and infrastructure. Based on the Final EA, a determination was made that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human and natural environments and that further analysis is not required. Therefore, a “finding of no significant impact” (FONSI) was issued and an environmental impact statement is not required.
