U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Administration, Facilities Management and Engineering (FM&E) announces that a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) addressing the Proposed Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of a new U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), Rio Grande Valley Sector, Falfurrias Station Traffic Checkpoint (TCP) in Brooks County, Texas and associated Final Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are now available for public review.

The Final EA documents a review of the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with constructing, operating, and maintaining the proposed USBP Traffic Check Point.  Based on the final EA and the mitigation measures to be implemented, the project would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment and that further analysis is not required.  Therefore, a FONSI was issued and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.  For further information please contact CBPEnvironmentalProgram@cbp.dhs.gov.
