U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and associated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) which analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the replacement of the pier and boat ramp in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
The Draft EA was made available for a 30-day public review and comment period between October 31 and November 30, 2018. It was accessible through CBP.gov and by distribution to stakeholders and a local public library. The notice of availability for the draft was published in the La Perla del Sur newspaper on October 31 and November 7, 2018.
Based on the findings of the EA, and after careful review of the potential environmental impacts of implementing the proposed action, CBP finds there would be no significant impact on the quality of the human or natural environment, either individually or cumulatively. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement is not required and a FONSI has been issued. Hard copies of the Final EA and FONSI are also available for review, at the Ponce Municipal Library (Mariana Suarez De Longo Municipal), located at Miguel Pou Boulevard, Ponce, Puerto Rico 00733.
