U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Proposed Joint Permanent Air Facility for United States Customs and Border Protection, Office of Air and Marine, at Libby Army Airfield, Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona and associated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been prepared and are now available for public review.

The EA documents a review of the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with the proposed action to construct a new air facility on nearly 7 acres of leased land along the western portion of the airfield. It includes the proposed construction of a hangar, an administrative/operations center, and vehicle parking as well as physical security measures.

Based on the Final EA, a determination was made that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human environment and that further analysis is not required.  Therefore, a FONSI was issued, and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
