Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) Supporting the Anapra Fence Replacement and Associated Road Renovations

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are now available for public review and comment. The Draft EA analyzes the potential environmental effects associated with the proposed replacement of the existing Anapra pedestrian fence and renovation of associated access roads (i.e. The Proposed Action). The purpose of the Proposed Action is to replace the existing pedestrian fencing to deter illicit cross border activity and enhance the safety and security of border communities and Border Patrol agents.

CBP invites comments on the Draft EA during the 30-day comment period beginning on July 20, 2015.  You may submit comments to Mr. Joseph Zidron using only one of the following methods:

  • By U.S. mail:  Joseph Zidron, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 24000 Avila Road, Suite 5020, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677; or
  • By email:  joseph.zidron@cbp.dhs.gov

When submitting comments, please include your name and address, and identify your comments as for the Anapra EA.

To ensure consideration, comments must be received by August 19, 2015. Once the final environmental and decision documents are complete they will also be posted on this site.
