Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Construction and Operation of a New Marine Facility in Ceiba, Puerto Rico

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Construction and Operation of a New Marine Facility in Ceiba, Puerto Rico are now available for public review and comment. The Draft  EA analyzes the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with the construction and operation of the referenced facility at Parcel 46 within former Naval Station Roosevelt Roads. The new marine facility will consist of an administrative building, boat maintenance/storage hangar, exterior parking area, physical security, and infrastructure. 

CBP invites comments on the Draft EA during the 30-day comment period beginning on March 20, 2014. You may submit comments to Mr. Kenneth Marion via email at kenneth.r.marion@cbp.dhs.gov; or by mail to the following address:

When submitting comments, please include your name and address, and identify your comments as being for the Ceiba EA and/or FONSI. To ensure consideration, comments must be received by April 19, 2014. Once the final environmental and decision documents are complete they will also be posted on this site.
