U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) addressing the proposed construction, operation, and maintenance of a new U.S. Border Patrol Station (USBP), Niagara, New York and associated draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is now available for public review and comment.
The draft EA analyzes the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with constructing, operating, and maintaining the proposed USBP station. The proposed action could include construction, operation, and maintenance of all or some of the following components: a USBP station, vehicle wash area, storage areas, perimeter fencing and lighting, a canine facility, parking areas, a backup electrical power generator, and a communications tower of up to 120 feet in height.
CBP invites comments on the draft EA and FONSI during the 30-day comment period beginning on May 1, 2014. Please provide comments using only one of the following methods:

When submitting comments, please include your name and address, and identify your comments as for the USBP Niagara BPS EA and /or FONSI. To ensure consideration, comments must be received by May 30, 2014. Once the final environmental and decision documents are complete they will also be posted on this site.
