U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed mitigation for the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher on Bureau of Land Management-administered Federal lands approximately two miles west of downtown Yuma, Arizona.
CBP has prepared a Draft EA and FONSI to identify and assess the potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts associated with the restoration and maintenance of 42.8 acres of native habitat through manual, mechanical, and chemical applications. The proposed action would meet mitigation requirements in the 2008 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Biological Opinion to minimize impacts resulting from vegetation treatment in the Limitrophe. CBP invites comments on the Draft EA and FONSI during the 30-day comment period beginning on March 15, 2019. You may submit comments using only one of the following methods:
- By email to commentsenv@cbp.dhs.gov
- By mail to Paradise Cove West EA, c/o John Petrilla, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 24000 Avila Road, Suite 5020, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
To ensure consideration, comments must be received by April 15, 2019.
