The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces the availability of this Final EA and FONSI.  Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq., CBP has prepared the Final EA to identify and assess the potential environmental effects associated with the proposed upgrade of the Remote Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS) within the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) Rio Grande City, McAllen, and Weslaco Stations’ Areas of Responsibility (AORs) in the Rio Grande Sector (i.e., the Proposed Action).  Based on the Final Environmental Assessment, a determination was made that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human environment and that further analysis is not required.  Therefore, a FONSI was issued, and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required. For further information please contact CBPEnvironmentalProgram@cbp.dhs.gov.
