The Border, Air, & Marine Operations Directorate is the OCA lead for CBP operations to secure the land and maritime borders between ports of entry. It serves as the primary OCA liaison to all authorizing committees and personal office staff on matters involving the U.S. Border Patrol and Air and Marine Operations.
Key issues that fall under the Border, Air, & Marine Operations Directorate are:
- Border enforcement operations and challenges between the ports of entry
- Aviation and marine assets and operations
- Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) program
- Border technology deployment
- CBP join operations and initiatives
- Unaccompanied minors
- Human trafficking and the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA)
- Border wall system construction and maintenance
- Tactical communications
The directorate collaborates regularly with Congressional staff from the following committees:

- Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
- House Committee on the Judiciary
- Senate Committee on the Judiciary
