The Centers of Excellence and Expertise (CEE) bring all of U.S. Customs and Border Protection trade expertise to bear on a single industry in a strategic location. They are staffed with numerous trade positions using account management principles that are able to authoritatively facilitate trade issues. The CEEs also serve as resources to the broader trade community and to CBP’s U.S. government partners.
The Import Safety Commerical Targeting and Analysis Center (CTAC) is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility designed to streamline and enhance federal efforts to address import saftey issues.
The trade in counterfeit and pirated goods threatens the U.S. economy, the competitiveness of U.S. businesses, the livelihoods of U.S. workers, and, in some cases, national security and the health and safety of consumers. The trade in these illegitmate goods is associated with smuggling and other criminal activities, and often funds criminal enterprise. CBP protects business and consumers every day through an agressive Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) enforcement program.
