CBP Apprehends Woman Fugitive Wanted for Murder of 14-Year-Old Boy

SAN DIEGO — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Ysidro port of entry on Wednesday discovered a fugitive wanted by the Salinas Police Department in Calif., for the murder of a 14-year-old boy.

At about 8:30 p.m., July 30, Angela Nicole Zuniga, a 22-year-old female U.S. citizen was turned over to CBP officers by Mexican officials.  CBP officers escorted Zuniga to a secure location for processing where they confirmed her identity and citizenship. During processing, CBP officers utilized finger print identification systems and discovered an active felony warrant for murder with bail set at $2.2 million.

According to the Salinas Police Department, Zuniga is wanted in connection with an alleged gang affiliated murder of a 14-year-old boy in Salinas.

CBP officers turned over custody of Zuniga to the U.S. Marshals Service for booking into the Las Colinas Detention Facility.
