U.S. Border Patrol Blotter, Blaine Sector: April 24 – May 7, 2014

BLAINE, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations.  For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

04/26/2014 – Agents responded to a call from a concerned citizen reporting two suspicious people, covered in mud, waking near the border in Blaine, Washington.  Upon the arrival of agents to the area, both subjects attempted to abscond through the woods.  After a short chase, agents were able to question the pair and determined that they were citizens of Canada, illegally present in the United States.  Both were arrested and processed for removal.

05/04/2014 – A Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) operator witnessed one subject illegally cross the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  Agents responded to the area, located the individual, and determined the subject to be a citizen of India, unlawfully present in the United States.  The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

05/04/2014 – Shortly after sunset, agents responded to possible illegal cross-border activity near Lynden, Washington.  Agents observed a fresh trail in the grass indicating that something had recently traveled south from the U.S./Canada international boundary.  Agents followed the trail south and encountered five individuals walking through a field.  Through questioning, agents determined the subjects were citizens of Pakistan, China, and Canada, and were unlawfully present in the United States.  The subjects were placed under arrest.  Record checks revealed the citizen of Pakistan had been previously removed from the United States, and was processed to reinstate a prior order of removal.  The other four subjects were processed for removal.

05/07/2014 – A RVSS operator observed a person illegally cross the U.S./Canada border in Blaine, Washington.  When agents arrived in the area, they discovered an individual attempting to hide in the brush.  Agents determined the subject to be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, illegally present in the United States.  Record checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.  The subject was placed under arrest and processed for a prior order of removal.
