SAN LUIS, Ariz. – A Yuma, Arizona woman was arrested Monday for attempting to smuggle 16 pounds of methamphetamine into the United States.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Jessica Nicole Aynes, 23, for an inspection of her vehicle. After a narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, officers removed 15 packages of crystal meth from the front and rear bumpers. The drugs, worth nearly $48,800, and vehicle were seized. Aynes was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
