El Centro Sector Border Patrol Arrests Brothers who are Convicted Sex Offenders and Gang Members

CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehend two sex offender gang members from the “Bakerstown Surenos” criminal street gang.  This makes a total of 12 gang members arrested this year.  The men were illegally present in the United States at the time of their arrest.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, approximately nine miles west of downtown Calexico when Border Patrol agents from the El Centro station apprehended two felon gang member brothers after they illegally crossed into the U.S. 

The first man, 35-year-old Gildardo Ramirez-Reyes, is a convicted sex offender, for Sex with a Minor in 2013.  He also has an active warrant for a separate sexual assault out of San Joaquin County.

The second man is Gildardos younger brother, 34-year-old Juan Omar Ramirez-Reyes, also a convicted felon sex offender, for Sex with a Minor in 2001, out of Stockton.  He also was convicted of Inflicting Corporal Injury in 2007.

The Ramirez brothers are in Border Patrol custody and will be processed for re-entry of a removed alien.  The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department was contacted and will extradite Gildardo Ramirez-Reyes for his active warrant.
