CBP Officers Seize $329K Worth of Marijuana

LUKEVILLE, Ariz. — A Mexican national was arrested Saturday at the Port of Lukeville in connection with a failed drug-smuggling attempt.

CBP officers assigned to the Port of Lukeville searching a delivery truck located nearly $329,000 worth of marijuanaU.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Jorge Alberto Sanchez-Ruiz, 22, of Sonoyta, Sonora, Mexico, for additional inspection of his Ford truck, during which officers located 29 bundles of marijuana weighing nearly 658 pounds.Nearly 30 bundles of marijuana are seized by CBP officers at the Port of Lukeville

The drugs, valued at an estimated $329,000, and vehicle were processed for seizure. Sanchez was referred to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
