Border Patrol Manpower Continues to Increase in RGV

EDINBURG, Texas — More than two dozen newly hired agents from throughout the country reported for duty to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector.

RGV Sector Chief Kevin Oaks swears in more than two dozen new agents

On Monday afternoon a group of new agents were administered the oath of office by RGV Border Patrol Sector Chief Kevin W. Oaks. The newly hired agents come from various states including Nebraska, New York, Wisconsin and Michigan and will begin training at Border Patrol academy in Artesia, New Mexico later this week.  

The agents, part of nearly 300 new employees slated for RGV in fiscal year 2014, received a special greeting from Texas Representative Scott Turner who was visiting the RGV during the event.
