HIGHGATE SPRINGS, Vt. — To accommodate and expedite individuals seeking entry into the United States utilizing a NEXUS card, thru the NEXUS lane at the Port of Highgate Springs, on April 18, Good Friday, CBP is proactively notifying NEXUS members to utilize the commercial vehicle lane, on Friday, April 18. Using the commercial vehicle lane instead of the normal NEXUS lane will allow the Port to maintain all passenger vehicle lanes for the anticipated high volume of passenger vehicles, thus expediting the flow of travelers entering the United States, and ensuring travelers have the shortest average wait time possible.
The commercial vehicle lane is located to the far right as you approach the Port and it is marked by signs. This commercial vehicle lane will be open to all NEXUS participants for its normal operating hours of 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Port of Highgate Springs continuously monitors NEXUS lane usage and employs active lane management to meet traffic demands and ensure travelers have the shortest average wait time possible.
NEXUS currently provides more than 800,000 members expedited processing at dedicated lanes at the border, at NEXUS kiosks at preclearance airports in Canada, and at maritime reporting locations.
Frequent cross-border travelers are encouraged to participate in the NEXUS program, which allows pre-screened, low-risk travelers to proceed with little or no delay into the United States and Canada. Travelers may apply online at the CBP website or the Canada Border Services Agency website. Additionally, NEXUS information is available toll-free at: 1-(866)-NEXUS 26 (1-866-639-8726).
