STERLING, VA.—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) at Washington Dulles International Airport arrested a U.S. citizen Thursday who was wanted by the Chesterfield County, Va. Police Department for larceny.
Sothy Chan, 30 of North Chesterfield, Va., arrived on a flight from Seoul, South Korea. CBP officers determined Chan to be subject to a warrant of arrest issued by the Chesterfield County, Va. Police Department for larceny. The officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition. Chan was arrested by CBP and turned over to Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority police for extradition.
"The United States is a welcoming nation," said Christopher Hess CBP Port Director for the Port of Washington. "And CBP is committed to facilitating legitimate travel; however we stand ever vigilant in intercepting those travelers that our laws identify as needing further scrutiny."
