Arriving in New Zealand

U.S. citizens with Global Entry membership traveling to New Zealand may use a dedicated lane arriving at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch airports. The lanes will streamline border processing for U.S. Global Entry members.

Lanes will be clearly marked with signs that say "U.S. Global Entry." To be eligible to use the lanes, U.S. Global Entry members simply present their membership (Trusted Traveler) card, their U.S. passport, and arrival documentation.

This initiative is the result of an agreement between New Zealand and the United States to progressively improve the border experience for travellers flying between the two countries.

Smart Gate Logo

SmartGate is a simple way for eligible travellers arriving into Australia's international airports to self-process through passport control.

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service will extend the use of SmartGate to U.S. Global Entry members on a trial basis from 1 November 2012.

To be eligible to use SmartGate in Australia you must:

  • be a currently registered member of the US Global Entry Program
  • be flying into Australia
  • travel on a valid US ePassport
  • be aged 16 years or older

SmartGate performs the customs and immigration checks usually conducted by an Australian Customs and Border Protection officer. It uses the data in the ePassport and face recognition technology to securely and efficiently process passengers.

Benefits of using SmartGate

SmartGate gives you a choice about how you are processed at passport control in Australia.

You can choose to be cleared by an Australian Customs and Border Protection officer or use SmartGate to self-process. Using SmartGate to self-process may be faster than waiting for a Customs and Border Protection officer, particularly during busy travel periods.

SmartGate is a simple two-step process involving a kiosk and a gate.

U.S. Global Entry Program members are advised that the trial does not change the visa requirements or the visa process for travel to Australia. For more information about obtaining a visa to enter Australia, visit the Embassy of Australia website.

TSA Precheck Logo

The TSA Precheck Logo program expedites traveler screening through security checkpoints. CBP has partnered with TSA on this Department of Homeland Security initiative, which is designed to help TSA focus resources on passengers we know less about while expediting the process for lower-risk passengers whenever possible.

All Global Entry members are eligible to participate in TSA Precheck Logo. U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents enrolled in NEXUS or SENTRI are also eligible to participate in TSA Precheck Logo. Canadian citizens who are members of the NEXUS program are also eligible for TSA Precheck Logo.

About the TSA Precheck LogoExpedited Screening Initiative:

For more information on participating airlines and airports in TSA Precheck Logo, click here.

Some passengers could qualify for expedited screening through U.S. airport security checkpoints via designated screening lanes. Benefits may include no longer removing the following items when going through airport security:

  • Shoes
  • 3-1-1 compliant bag in carry-on
  • Laptop from bag
  • Light outerwear/jacket
  • Belt

At no point, however, is this program an entitlement. Passengers are always subject to random, unpredictable screening measures.

For more information about TSA Precheck Logo, click here or call the TSA Contact Center at 1-866-289-9673.

Eligibility for TSA Precheck Logo:

Trusted Traveler program members must provide their membership number (PASS ID) in the "Known Traveler Number" field when booking reservations or enter it into their frequent flyer profile with the airline. The Trusted Traveler membership number enables TSA's Secure Flight System to verify that the traveler is a legitimate CBP Trusted Traveler and therefore eligible to participate in TSA Precheck Logo.

Find your Trusted Traveler membership number by logging into your Global Online Enrollment System (GOES) account. The membership number is listed toward the bottom of the page. The membership number is also on the back of Trusted Traveler cards in the top-left corner.
