Welcome to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The CBP priority mission is anti-terrorism -- detecting and preventing terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the United States. We are dedicated to presenting "One Face at the Border," that is a unified workforce engaged in managing, securing, controlling and protecting our Nation's borders.
Our mission is accomplished through the dedicated efforts of our employees. Managers and supervisors know from experience that the most rewarding use of their time is working with their employees-the agency's greatest resource. Through orientation, training and other programs, your supervisors are ready to help you achieve your career goals while, at the same time, accomplishing our mission.
In this on-line New Employees Orientation, we have included information to answer questions you may have about working for the Federal Government as a new employee. Some of the information pertains specifically to CBP, but much of it is derived from other Federal agencies, such as the Office of Personnel Management.
It is important that you read and understand the information given. Any questions should be directed to your supervisor. You and your supervisor are also encouraged to use this opportunity to review any local policies that may be specific to your individual duty station or field activity.
We hope that you find your work with CBP challenging and a source of personal pride and satisfaction.
