Final Environmental Assessment and FONSI for the Construction and Operation of a New Marine Facility at Ceiba, Puerto Rico

Document Posting Date:
July 30, 2014

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announces that a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and associated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been prepared and are available for public review. The EA documents a review of the potential environmental and socioeconomic effects associated with the construction and operation of a new marine facility within former Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Ceiba, Puerto Rico. The new marine facility will consist of an administrative building, boat maintenance/storage hangar, exterior parking area, physical security, and infrastructure. Based on the Final EA, a determination was made that the proposed action will not significantly affect the human and natural environments and that further analysis is not required. Therefore, a FONSI was issued, and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
