Jordan Free Trade Agreement (JOFTA)

The Jordan Free Trade Agreement (JOFTA) went into effect on December 17, 2001. Under the agreement virtually all Jordanian goods enter the United States duty free. The Jordan FTA does NOT provide a merchandise processing fee (MPF) exemption.

Data Elements for the Jordan FTA Certification of Origin - 19 CFR 10.704

Importers under the Jordan FTA should be prepared to submit to CBP a certification (a.k.a. declaration) as specified in 19 CFR 10.704 showing how the good meets the requirements of the FTA. Also see the “Importer Requirements” section of the Jordan Free Trade Agreement Implementation Instructions.
